Details: 2008-09-17 Compelled by Love![]() This episode was actually recorded in July during the Searching Together Conference. A few of us (Tommy Freed, Mark Shearer, our featured guest Peter Van Dyke, myself, and a pocket-sized digital recorder) took a break for a picnic lunch on the cliffs overlooking the St. Croix River. The audio quality is not the best, as there's lots of outside noise from wind, birds, hikers in the park, and boats on the river, but the conversation is pretty clear and understandable, I think. Pete shares some of his experiences with abusive religion, and later contrasts "success-driven" church systems with the kinds of ministry that comes from people compelled by love. Special thanks to Eve and Steve Bjork for provided the boxed lunch, and to Searching Together for the occasion which brought us all together.
