Just for the record, I found the Golden Compass to be grievous to watch. But I am writing to commend the discussion on the culture of the Kingdom of God. I agree with Tim that it is not necessary to separate ourselves like the Amish to obtain this sense of culture. But we do need to disassociate with the culture we live in. I think most Church ministry to the body actually teaches believers how to be better citizens of this culture instead of the Kingdom of God. Great podcast guys!

I loved this topic and also the one that continued it. I feel like we still haven't got a full handle on the Kingdom of God yet, but we are getting warmer. Many people think of the KOG as either evangelism (getting souls "saved") or as doing lots of good social works. Somehow I see it as a conversion of everything that we have ever known, starting with our own hearts and changing the world around us. Remember the rock that came flying from out of nowhere in Daniel? It was not made with human hands and it smashed the statue and became a great mountain in the earth. I think we need to explore that story more. It occurred to me as I was thinking about my frustration in seeing so many "saved" but few completely converted. Conversion is a day by day thing and my goal is to become more converted myself. I guess if I had a place that I would like to see real ministry start, it would be in the heart of those who already consider themselves believers. Something has been wrong for a long, long time, and I can't see that the church is different than the world. Oh for the day when we can say the kingdoms of this world have now become the kingdoms of our God.
